Death Claims Wife of Episcopalian Rector
Mrs. Elizabeth McCready Jamison, the wife of Joseph Clarke Jamison, rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church of this city, died at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home on West Davis Street. The lady had been ill for about two weeks and had been in a very serious condition for several days before death occured. Mrs. Jamison was 58 years old and was born in Donaghadee County, Ireland. She had lived almost her entire life in this country. Mr. and Mrs. Jamison came to Nowata from Poteau about two months ago and during their brief stay in this city both made many friends who sympathize with Mr. Jamison in his great loss. The lady is survived by her husband and two sons, George B. Jamison, who is in the customs service at Winnipeg, Can., and Hugh B. Jamison, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church at Marshall, Tex. The latter arrived in the city Sunday. The funeral will be held Turesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Episcopal Church and interment will be made in the Nowata Cemetery.
Funeral Service For Mrs. Joseph Clarke Jamison
The funeral service for the late Mrs. Joseph Clarke Jamison, the wife of the rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, was held at the church at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The church sercive was conducted by Arch Deacon Spencer-Mounsey, of Muskogee, assisted by Arch Dean Franklin Davis, of Ada, and was most impressive. The pall-bearers were: Messrs. George Eldred, Bert Cromack, George Barnes, L.D. Brunk, W.W. Warner, and H.J. Whitehill. Interment was made in the Nowata Cemetery.
The following members of the Episcopal clergy were present at the funeral: Arch Deacon Spencer-Mounsey, Muskogee; Arch Deacon Franklin Davis, Ada; Rev. John W. Day, Sapulpa; Rev. Isaac Parkins, Coalgate; Rev. H.B. Smith, McAlester. Others from out of the city who were present were: Dr. A.A. Swift, Mrs. Frank Griswold, and Mrs. Dennison, of Claremore; George H. Walters, Wagoner and E.A. Moore, Spiro.
