      July 3, 1770. Jno. Waller, Clk. of Spts. Co., and Ann, his wife, to John Lewis, Oliver Towles and John Chew of same Co. In trust. 600 a. in Spts. Co., remainder of a larger tract, which sd. tract sd. John and Ann Waller hold in right of the sd. Ann, which sd. tract descended from Parmenas Bowker to his son, Ralph Bowker (his eldest son and heir) and on the death of sd. Ralph, which occurred before he arrived at age and without any issue, was vested in his (Ralph's) sister, Ann (now Ann Waller, etc.), the remainder of sd. tract being held by Wm. Smith and Ann, his wife, in right of the sd. Ann Smith, for her dower as widow of sd. Parmenas Bowker, etc., the sd. tract is whereon the sd. Jno.       All of the above tests appear to be descendants of Barnard/Barnett Carter and his wife Elizabeth Turman. While these tests are a close match to Spencer Carter's clan,[R1b-08(R-M269)] they do not match the I1-12 I-M253 of Giles Carter Males. Nor do they match the Povall Carter lines R1a-02 (R-M512)

      The monument at Antique Village, Escanaba, Michigan for Cary Lafayette Carter. Veteran of War of 1812. Cary L Carter Sr: Born 1789 in Fredericksville, Albermarle County, Virginia. Died:24 OCT 1876 in Henry County, Virginia July 13, 2013 article Cary L Carter to be honored Sat. July 13, 2013 at 6 PM at Escanaba, Michigan's Fairgrounds.: Corporal Cary Lafayette Carter b. 1789 will be honored by our City of Escanaba as a first land owner of our Upper Peninsula State Fairgrounds. The ceremony will honor the two veterans of the War of 1812 who received bounty land warrants as rewards for their volunteer service from their state militias. Carter marched 130 miles to join his company and was also stationed on Craney Island, where a key battle took place. Interested descendants may contact our committee for more details.
