Maud Powell Gordon, of Front Royal, Virginia died peacefully at home on April 25, 2011 in the loving presence of her husband of 64 years, Col. A.R. Gordon, Jr. (USAF Retired) and two daughters, Judy Gordon Mentlik of Westfield, NJ and Polly Gordon of Waldorf, MD.
Maud was born May 23, 1926 in Greenville, NC.
After retiring from the Federal Government, she enjoyed overseas travel with her husband. For many years she was an enthusiastic volunteer with the Samuels Public Library.
In addition to her husband and daughters, she is survived by her wonderful grandchildren, Philip Cosmos Bell of New Zealand, Carly Mentlik of CA, Jacob Mentlik of ME and his life partner, Maia Campoamor and their children Osa and Quillan; her dear sister Alte Faust; sisters-in-law, Julia and Elsie Lammert; and numerous nieces and nephews.
