    Helen M. Whitney (nee Charsha) passed into the arms of our Lord on Nov. 15, 2012, at her home.
    She was 92 years old.

    Helen was the daughter of the late Florence and Glenn Charsha. She was the wife of the late Wayne Whitney with whom she shared 50 years of marriage in the West Chester area. She was the dear mother of Dolores McCaw (Glenn).

    Helen is survived by her loving family; two grandchildren, Kathy Henderson (Andrew) and John McCaw (Kim) and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Christopher.

    Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing 9:30 to 10:50 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, (610-353-6300) followed by a service at the funeral home at 11 a.m.

    Interment Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall.

    She was the wife of the late William Charles Entress Jr.

    Born February 14, 1934 in West Chester, PA she was the daughter of the late Malvin Charsha and the late Anna Wilds Charsha.

    Ann grew up in West Chester. She was a homemaker for several years. Ann also worked at Unipak Co. in West Chester for 11 years and she worked in the school cafeteria for many years as well. Ann enjoyed taking care of children.

    Ann was a member of Pocohantas & Dairy Maids for over 50 years.

    She enjoyed being outside and taking care of the elderly. Ann also enjoyed playing games on the computer. She was very active at the Denny Rayburn coordinating activities for residents.

    Ann is survived by her daughters Joy Guthrie of Florida, Barb Styer of Downingtown and Diane Gonzalez of Coatesville. She is also survived by her sister Marie Robinson, brother Malvin Charsha, 16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

    In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons James W. Entress Sr., Kevin S. Entress Sr., and Malvin C. Entress and sisters Betty Smith and Florence L. Kenworthy.

    Services and Interment will be private. Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

She enjoyed spending time with her great granddaughter, Reese McCardell and great grandson, Oscar Botero. She was the sister of Ann Entress of West Chester, Marie Robinson of Lancaster, and Malvin Charsha Jr. of El Segundo, CA. Betty was also predeceased by her sister Florence Kenworthy, son-in-law, Joseph Dussell and great-granddaughter Blake McCardell. Betty grew up and spent her life in West Chester, graduating from the WC High School in 1948. Primarily a homemaker while raising her children, she later helped start the Church of Christ Nursery School, where she taught many young children in the community. She was an active member of the Church of Christ ladies? group, with whom she spent many hours worshipping, volunteering, and socializing. She attended the Church of Christ and volunteered often at several local nursing homes. Betty enjoyed reading, sewing and baking and sharing those activities with her children and grandchildren. Family gatherings, as well as both Smith and Hummel/Charsha reunions, were often organized and held at the family home near the Goshen Fire Company and Fairgrounds. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6th at the Church of Christ, 1326 Park Avenue, West Chester. Visitation will be from 11am - 12noon, the memorial service will start at 12 noon. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Church of Christ at the above address in support of the Back to School program which distributes school supplies to local children in need.     Lydia C. "Chris" Medina, 68 yrs. of Honey Brook, died on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Green Meadows Nursing Home in Malvern, following an illness.

    She was born in West Chester, PA on Tuesday, January 27, 1953. Lydia was the daughter of the late Milton & Lydia (Roth) Charsha. She was the wife of Jose Medina, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.

    Lydia was employed at Hickory House Nursing Home in the laundry service department. She enjoyed doing puzzles, cooking, fun times at Hershey Park, cook outs on the Chesapeake Bay and time spend with her beloved grandchildren.

    Lydia was preceded in death by a son, Jose Juan Medina, Jr., two brothers, Bobby and Norman Charsha, and a sister, Jannie Chester.

    She is survived in addition to her husband by 2 sons; Jose Luis (Shana) Medina of Hamburg, William Anthony (Pamula) Medina of Elverson, 2 daughters; Gloria Medina of Exton, Victoria (Walter) Blair of Hamburg and a brother Bruce Charsha of Parkesburg. There are 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

    A calling hour will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 6 to 8 PM at The Labs Funeral Home, Inc, 141 Pequea Ave. Brook, Pa. 19344. Attendees are reminded of the COVID-19 pandemic guidelines and are kindly asked to wear a mask and observe physical distancing.

    Woodford A. Bowe, Jr. (Woodie) of Rising Sun, MD peacefully passed at home on October 24, 2018 at age 68. He was born April 30, 1950 in Elkton, MD to Woodford and Marion Rebecca Bowe. Raised in Chesapeake City, MD, Woodie was a 1968 Bohemia Manor High School graduate. He served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1974 as a radar electronics technician. Following the Navy, he worked at CDS Analytical, Inc. in Oxford, PA for forty-three years as a design engineer. Over the tenure of his career, he was awarded thirteen patents for designing and building chemical analysis equipment.
    He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Nancy Bowe; two sons Woodford A. Bowe, III and wife Christine, Timothy S. Bowe and wife Lisa; his mother, Marion Rebecca Bowe; his sister Tammi Dionne and husband Rick of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren, Woodford IV, Courtney, and Zachary Bowe, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close family. He is preceded in death by his father, Woodford A. Bowe and brother, Richard Bowe.
    He loved boating, fishing, crabbing, electronics, and 3-D printing, sharing this love with his children, grandchildren, and close friends and family. His boat, Tide Chaser, brought him and family many years of happiness on the Chesapeake Bay.
    Woodie is well known for his welcoming personality, his hospitality, and his big hugs. He especially loved spending time at his mother's house in Chesapeake City with nieces Angela Badgett and Allison Anderson. He will be missed greatly by a host of family, friends, and co-workers.
    A memorial will occur at a later date.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hash is survived by her siblings, Penny Karnes, Chesterfield, Va., Candy Dalgarn, North East, Md., Mary Pridgen, Chancellor, Al. And Howard Baker, Jr., Newark, DE; and a special friend, Paul Johnson and his son, Harry. Funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, January 30, 2002 at Hicks Home For Funerals, 103 W.
