    Wesley Eggleston, 86, of Martinsville passed away at his home Saturday, March 12, 2016. He was born November 5, 1929, in Henry County, a son of the late Maggie Lee Nelson Eggleston and the late Thomas Eugene Eggleston. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Cox Eggleston; and one sister, Vera Eggleston Martin.

    Mr. Eggleston was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church where he had served as an Elder, Sunday School Superintendent, teacher and choir member. Wesley was a graduate of Fieldale High School and worked in Data Processing at Bassett Walker Inc. where he retired after 29 years. He was a member of the Preston Ruritan Club. Wesley was a veteran of the United States Army.

    Surviving are his daughters, Jody Eggleston Hilliard of Monroe, N.C., and Genell Eggleston Brown of Martinsville; son, Michael Dean Eggleston of Martinsville; brothers, Thomas Nelson Eggleston of Fieldale, and Ronnie Dean Eggleston of Martinsville; grandchildren, Eric Eggleston, Evan Eggleston, Maggie Hilliard Tyson, Abby Hilliard Ring, Wesley Brown and Bryson Brown; great-grandchildren, Rylan Eggleston, Paxton Eggleston, Lucy Tyson and Emmett Tyson. He was also survived by special nephews and nieces.

    The funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Pence officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2016, at Norris Funeral Services Martinsville Chapel and at other times at the residence.

    Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery Fund, 5285 Preston Rd., Martinsville, VA 24112.
