    Notes:

    Gay Youry Green, 66, of the 1400 block of Armistead Bridge Road, died July 27, 1997, in her home.
    Mrs. Green was a native of Bronxville, N.Y. The daughter of the late Franklin Weems Youry and Lillian Simpson Youry, she was raised in Alexandria, Va., where she graduated from St. Agnes School in 1947. She graduated from Hollins College in 1951. She married Berryman Green IV in 1953 and moved to Norfolk in 1954, where they raised four sons. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Warfield Youry.
    She was a member and former vestryman of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Norfolk and was active in civic, social and volunteer organizations and had served on the executive boards of The Hermitage Foundation Auxiliary, The Garden Club of Norfolk, Junior League of Norfolk, past president and member of the auxiliary board of Sentara Hospitals of Norfolk, past chairman of the Colonial Dames, Norfolk Tidewater Committee; served on the executive committee of Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters; and was a member of Westover Garden Club.
    Survivors include her husband, Berryman Green IV; four sons, Berryman Green V, Franklin Weems Youry ''Bucky'' Green, Nathaniel Terry Green II and his wife, Barbara Kiley Green, and Jonathan West Green; a sister, Lillian Youry Golbranson; three granddaughters, Elizabeth Randolph Green, Caroline Kiley Green and Sarah Marguerite Green; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and a devoted family friend and nurse, Evelyn Clark.
    A memorial service, following a private interment, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Norfolk by the Rt. Rev. A. Heath Light. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Garden Club of Norfolk Endowment Fund or The Hermitage Foundation Auxiliary. The family will receive friends after the service at 1408 Armistead Bridge Road. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, is handling arrangements.
