    Wilmington - Mrs. Evelyn D. (Reynolds) Casalena, 99, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018.

    A native of Cecil County, Maryland, Evelyn was a graduate of Goldey-Beacom College. She was employed with Hercules and retired after many years of valuable and dedicated service. She was a skilled baker, an avid antique collector, and enjoyed playing the organ. Evelyn was a member of St. Anthony of Padua and St. Catherine of Siena Parishes.

    Her beloved husband of 57 years, Louis L. Casalena, passed away on April 13, 2009. Evelyn was the daughter of the late Leroy and Margaret Reynolds, and was predeceased by her brothers, James, Allen and Leroy Jr., as well as her sisters, Frances Shires, Nellie Gilbert, Rachel Voshell, Helen Rowe, Lucy Wood and Grace Cockerham.

    Evelyn is survived by her brother, Lindsley Reynolds; her sister, Margaret Jones; her brother-in-law, Dr. Herbert Casalena (Evelyn); her sister-in-law, Gloria Dettro; a host of nieces, nephews; loyal friends and neighbors.

    The family would like to offer special thanks to Evelyn's devoted caregiver, Alma Schmuck. Thanks also to the staff of Arden Courts and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.

    Funeral services and entombment in Cathedral Cemetery will be held privately.
