Aliese Marlowe Dorton, 93, of Martinsville, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Blue Ridge Manor. She was born February 7, 1922 in Callands, Va. to the late Joseph and Lillian Wells Marlow. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her first husband, Russell Marlowe; her second husband, Harold Dorton, and seven brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Dorton was a member of Calvary Christian Church, and had attended First Baptist Church. She previously had worked at Pannill Knitting Co., and Revco Pharmacy. At the age of 50 she went back to school at Allen's Beauty College and became a licensed beautician. She was a self employed hair stylist for over 30 years.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jerry and Susan Marlowe of Greensboro, N.C.; one grandson and spouse, Jay and Kim Marlowe, of Roanoke; one granddaughter and spouse, Mendy and Doug Spadaro, of Savannah, Ga.; great grandchildren, Michael and Benjamin Spadaro, of Savannah, Ga., and Dillon and Josie Marlowe, of Roanoke; one sister, Esther Ramsey, of Martinsville.
The Service of Remembrance for Aliese will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Ron Mateer officiating. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service in the Chapel. Interment will be private.
