      Wilson's two wives. Death 30 Jul 1758

From June Cottrells 30 Nov 2001
Wilson Carter married Sarah Davis of Cumberland County in 1815. Sarah was a daughter of Jesse Davis and Elizabeth Guthrey. I haven't been able to find Jesse's parents or his siblings. I expect he was the Jesse who was excummunicated in 1789 from the Bethlehem Baptist Church according to Reverend Rene Chastain's notes. He also noted that Elezibeth Guttry was gone from the membership of the Buckingham Baptist Church.. Elizabeth Guthrey was a daughter of Alexander Guthery. It is possible that Jesse Davis went first to Powhatan County and settled in Cumberland County and later in Lynchburg Virginia, where he had some kind of tobacco related business.

Here is some information that may help someone on this line I have Wilson Carter married to Sarah Davis in Cumberland Co. Dec 2 1815. Sarah Davis's parents were Jesse Davis and Elizabeth Guthrey (Guthrie) I also have seen listed that he was married to a Mary Taylor but I have not seen a marriage date or place. Below is some info on at least one Child and Wilson Carter and then info on some of his cousin's the Brooklyn Carter's were probably in the same area as Tarleton Woodson's Brooklyn plantation in Prince Edward County.
