      Sarasota Herald-Tribune (FL) - Tuesday, April 8, 1997

      Dorothy Deal Varner, 78, Palmetto, died April 4, 1997.

      She was born Jan. 24, 1919, in Washington, D.C., and came to Palmetto 15 years ago from Winston-Salem, N.C. She was a former registered nurse at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church and the Palmetto Garden Club.

      Survivors include a daughter, Linney T. Reynolds of Palmetto; a brother, William E. Sisson of Wrightsville Beach, N.C.; and three grandchildren.

      A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Winston-Salem. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Bradenton Chapel, is in charge.

      Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 1010 24th Ave. W., Palmetto, FL 34221.
