Henry Walthall is the son of Richard and Mary Branch Walthall; he is said to have married Phoebe Ligon; however the family Search information does not reflect this information; [!BIR-BIRP-DEATH-DEATHP-UNMARRIED-PARENTS:The Walthall Family; 929.273; W172w; p. 14 !NOTE: Henry was the son of Richard Walthall and Mary Branch born 16 May 1733 at of Henrico County, VA. Henry died unmarried. Biographical sketch: Henry settled in Amelia County, VA. where he had inherited 200 acres of land, "all ye remainder part of my land in amealleay", which he sold to his brother, Christopher in 1759/63. He acquired a large acreage in Amelia between 1750 and 1783, largely along Deep Creek and the Appomattox River. He furnished supplies for the Revolutionary Army. In his will of 21 Mar 1801, recorded 25 June 1801, he bequeathed his entire estate to his three nephews, John, Philemon, Jr. and Walthall Holcombe, sons of his sister, Ann, andappointed them as his executors. He was unmarried.] or his supposed wife Phoebe had already died.

1690 April 2nd Deed [Henrico County VA Deeds 1677-1705, Compiled by Benjamin B. Weisiger III ©1986, p. 142] page 329 There is due to Henry WALTHALL (by assignment from his mother Mrs. Anne MORRIS) 650 acres, for importation of: William DODSON, George MIDDLETON, Sarah CROWTHER, John MACKDANIELL, John MACHELL, Elizabeth CARR, Mary FRANKLIN, Richard ELKINS, Thomas TOTTY and Tom and Moll (negroes) and Elizabeth PRATT and Joshuah PRITCHETT
Notes: According to this source, it was not stated where Thomas TOTTY was imported from. BUT importation, mean the act of bringing something or someone of importance from a foreign country. This was a practice by the Virginian colonist's in order to receive land for bringing someone under the "headright system", even if the person was already previously living in Virginia and was just coming back from a foreign country visit. Also note that Mary Franklin likely the wife of James FRANKLIN was imporated at same time that Thomas TOTTY was. May likely have been travelling together as neighbors.
This shows that the Walthalls, Tottys, Carters, Bibbs, Holcombs are interrelated.
