Nicholas Holt and Sarah, his wife, one of the daughters of Samuel Gregory, late of Charles City County, Samuel, Martha and William Holt, children of said Sarah and grandchildren of said Samuel Gregory, infants under 21, show that Samuel Gregory died 1768 seized of considerable estate, leaving a will which left slaves to his wife Elizabeth for life or widowhood and after her death or marriage to the children of Sarah and son William Gregory. He named Elizabeth and son William Gregory executors. They rendered no account. In april last [1771] Elizabeth Gregory married Theodorick Carter of this county and he possessed the estate. William Holt has two children, Samuel and Elizabeth.
