      The following is taken from a historical/genealogical sketch written by W. I. Everett and appeared in a Rockingham, Richmond Co., NC newspaper many years ago: "James VAUGHAN married a LEGRAND. Their son James LeGrand VAUGHAN married Jane Pickett ROBINSON.
      Their children: Wm. R. VAUGHAN married Eliza TERRY. Mary, Charles R. and John died in infancy. James Pickett VAUGHAN born 1837 died 1866. Anne Mosly VAUGHAN born 1852, died 1891. Sally Jane born 1846. Charles Milton son of James VAUGHAN and wife, Miss LEGRAND married Mosly TERRY."
