Comments (Jeanette Pritchett Mills b. 29 Dec 1848 Halifax County, Virginia d. 3 Jun 1912 Pittsylvania County, Virginia): My great grandfather is the first wife of-and I?ve found three different spellings Louisa (1880 census) Lulie ( their wedding announcement ) and Louie -on this page. All I can find is her birth date 1870 or 1871 and that?s it. I?m assuming she passed away before he married Minnie Clarke but have not been able to find anything.

      Hello Ron,
This Carter line is my mother's. I have reviewed her pedigree, and I am certain, beyond a shadow of a doubt; her name is Louisa and she is likely named for her grandmother, Louisa/Louisiana Franklin Carter. What is shown on the census is likely a nickname. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/118688500/jeannette-neal Her grandfather, Thomas D. Neal founded the first tobacco warehouse in Danville.
      Kindest regards,
      Mary Frances

Thank you for getting back to me! I have since found that my grandfather was 2 on a 1900 census and his father was listed as a widower so I?m thinking Louisa may have died in childbirth. Anyway this is a note that I?ve had in a baggie in the bottom of a grandfather clock that I have. I live just near Baltimore Md and the clock is from my grandparents home in Buxton NC. See Docs
