She also stated that she was the daughter of William McClanahan and Sarah Franklin, his second wife. William McClanahan is recognized by the DAR as a Revolutionary War Patriot, and Narcissa is recognized as a DAR Real Daughter. Her Real Daughter marker is in the ground to the side of the tombstone. Union Cemetery, Leesburg, Loudoun County, Virginia: Plats A & B 1784-1995 by Elizabeth R. Frain, c. 1995 p. 246 states that Narcissa was born 1829 and died Dec. 2, 1916 ? Cause of death: Old age. She signed her application as Narcissa Thomas Gillespie. [S54] DAR, Lineage Book. 55505 William McClanahan + Sarah Franklin (1803-66), his 2nd wife. Daughter, Narcissa Thomas McClanahan m.
