    • Lillie Oakes Scearce went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. She was born in the Brosville Community August 18, 1914, the daughter of John S. Oakes and Viola Eanes Oakes. She spent her life in Pittsylvania County. She was married to the late Stanley Carson Scearce for 48 years.
      She is survived by two daughters, Sylvia Scearce Minear and Nancy Scearce Collins; three grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
      Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
