    • Marylee Owens, 72 of North East, MD, died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong resident of North East, she was born on December 4, 1939, the daughter of the late Charles D. and the late Bertha Heverin Palmer. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Samuel J. Owens, Sr.; 2 sons: Samuel J. Owens, Jr. and his wife Tammy of Conowingo, MD and Michael T. Owens and his wife Virginia of North East, MD; 8 siblings: Verna McKinney, Louise Fillippone, Teresa Heath, Selma Harvey, Jack Palmer, Fred Palmer, Jerry Palmer and Gino Palmer; 3 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services, conducted by Father Samuel Hartman will be held Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD with visitation for family and friends beginning at 2:00 PM until service time. Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help with funeral expenses to Crouch Funeral Home, P.A

      Verna Amelia McKinney, 85 of North East, MD, died Friday, August 12, 2016. A lifelong resident of North East, MD, she was born on December 18, 1930, the daughter of the late Charles Daniel and Bertha (Heverin) Palmer. She was the wife of the late Edgar R. McKinney, Sr. who died on June 30, 1993.
      Mrs. McKinney is survived by one son: Edgar McKinney, Jr. of Elkton, MD; three sisters: Louise Fillippone, Teresa Heath and Selma Harvey; three brothers: Jack, Fred and Jerry Palmer; and three grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two sons: Charles Daniel McKinney and Keith Lee McKinney; a grandson: Jeffrey Bridges McKinney; a sister: Marylee Owens; and four brothers: Charles 'Bucky' Palmer, Gino Palmer, Lewis Heverin and Drennard "Tatter" Reynolds. Funeral services, conducted by Father John Schaeffer.
