Mr. James Andrew Thompson, III, 61, of 873 Moschler Drive, Gretna, VA went to be with his Lord at the Gretna Health and Rehab Center. He was the son of Ruby Parrish Thompson and the late James Andrew Thompson, Jr. Mr. Thompson was a member, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at the First Baptist Church of Riceville. He was a former employee of Ross and a farmer. In addition to his Mother, he is survived by his wife Linda Thompson of the residence, one son James Andrew Thompson, IV and his wife Cassie Thompson of Gretna, one daughter Amanda Thompson Hines and her husband Logan Hines of Hurt, VA, one step son Wade Quarles of Gretna, one brother William L. Thompson and his wife Debbie Thompson of Gretna, one sister Kathy Thompson Puckett Hass and her husband Don Hass of Houston, TX, four grandchildren Cabel Hines, Emily Hines, Cydney Thompson, James Andrew Thompson, V, two step grandchildren Miranda Quarles and Sabrina Quarles and four nieces and nephews William Thompson, Jr, Adam Thompson, Jessica Anderson and Jason Puckett. Graveside services were conducted at the Carl O Moran Memorial Garden by Reverend Dave Cochran and Reverend Neville Shelton.
