Rebecca Carter, d/o Thomas Carter Jr. and Mary Carroll, married John McGuire [MacQuire]. Thomas Carter was issued a patent [VPB17/165] for 400 acres on 8 Sep 1736, in Goochland County, lying on both sides of Turkey Cock Creek south of the James River. In 1757 Thomas Carter deeded 100 acres of the tract to John McGuire, husband of his daughter Rebecca.
