      Obit for son, James Harold Wells
      James Harold Wells, age 90, of Martinsville passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville.
      He was born June 23, 1924, in Callands, Va., to the late Matthew Lee and Julia Virginia Minter Wells. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Mark Kennon Wells; and one brother, Richard Dudley Wells. Mr. Wells graduated from high school and then went to Business School for 2 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII where he saw action on two different destroyers in the Atlantic Theatre and Pacific Theatre of operations. He was a life-long member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an usher, and retired from DuPont where he was an Import/Export Analyst. He was a former member of the Elks, VFW, he loved to read, and write letters to the Editor of the Bulletin, and about his service to our country. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sarah Vickers Wells of the home; one son, James Harold Wells, Jr. of the home; two daughters, Donna Jean ?DJ? LaTourette of Frisco, Texas, and Toni Leigh Wells of Plano, Texas; one brother, Robert Melvin Wells of Martinsville; grandchild, Kimberly Shannon Karanouh of Frisco, Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Kameron James Karanouh, and Tristan Sarah Karanouh; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be Friday, September 12, 2014, at noon in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Mark Hinchcliff officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park with military graveside honors by the Martinsville/Henry County Veterans Honor Guard.
