It appears from the research in this memoir, that James Goodwin and his wife Rachel Porter may be the progenitors of this Susanna Goodwin, wife of John Cole. As Rachael Porter Goodwin is dead 23 May 1666, likely one of her sons is the father of Susanna Goodwin who married John Cole.
Major James Goodwin married 2nd Blanche, [probably Parry]. On 25 Jan 1691 John and Peter Goodwin petitioned for shares of their father's estate in the hand of their 'mother-in-law' (step-mother), Mrs. Blanche Goodwin, and in the following month settlement was made with "seven children and ye widow" In 1687 Mrs. Blanche Goodwin had given property to her "sons" John and Peter Goodwin and daughter Susannah. Her will was proved 22 Sep 1701, and names sons Robert and martin as exec. daughter, Elizabeth Blinkhorn; and grandchildren, James and Elizabeth Duke. Matthew Goodwin witnessed a deed from Peter to Martin in 1701.
Children thought to be of James Goodwin (all by 1st wife): Robert m. Anne__; John, m. Elizabeth Moore; Peter, m. Rebecca Tiplady; Matthew; Martin m. Barbara ___; Susannah m. Duke; Elizabeth m. Blinkhorn.
