      Armstead Watlington, born in Abingdon Parish, 27 Dec 1730. Lived there in 1756. Married Susannah (born 16 Jan 1736, d/o Thomas and Elizabeth Coleman of Abingdon Parish, GC. Moved to Halifax Co., VA and was justice in 1764 in Halifax. The 1782 census for Halifax County gave him a family of six. He was appointed member of King's Council in Williamsburg, Va, 19 Dec 1764, and justice of the peace in 1776 in Pittsylvania County. [Historical Magazine, Vol. XVI
