However, her death certificate gives her last name as Faudree not Atkins.

Philip Carter is connected to the Giles Carter lines by his associations with other members of this clan. His father, John, who died in 1781, did not mention Philip in his will, as he is most concerned with his younger [infant] children. Philip has already received his part, and will marry two years after the death of his father. Philip borrows money from James Stevens, who is Nathaniel Carter's father-in-law, and must sue his estate for payment to be credited properly. Philip makes purchase along with Nathaniel Carter, at the sale of the Estate of Sarah Royal Terry. Philip's Revolutionary War Pension Application identifies his wife and children, places him in Halifax County and names his brother James. Wm. Tuck [another Carter associate] gives testimony as to the veracity of Philip's statements in his Pension Application.
