Abner was born on 24, March 1804. He died on 28 May, 1882. His wife, Ann Giles was born on 9 June 1807 and died on 1 May, 1884. They had 11 children, one of whom was Rebecca Ann Mahan, born 12 Feb. 1835 and died 20 August, 1907. Rebecca was my great grandmother. Rebecca married Lt. Col. William Henry Ramsey, my great grandfather. Rebecca and William Henry are buried in a family cemetery on Rt. 644, Cooksburg Rd. in Pittsylvania Co. I help to care for this cemetery.
