      Peter 'Pete' R. Wells, 57, of 114 Earl Lane, Rome, GA and formerly of Martinsville, VA died of diabetic complications on July 29, 2015 at his home. Pete was the son of the late Mary Jay Wells and the late Rev. Lynwood D. Wells, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother John E. Wells and a step-brother Tom Fleenor. He is survived by his daughter Whitney W. Williams and grandchildren Zoe and Hayden Williams of the home, a brother Lynwood D. Wells, Jr., a step-mother Anna Bowe Wells, and two step-sisters Natalie F. Coleman and Susan M. Fleenor of Martinsville. A private internment will be held at a later date at Christ Episcopal Church in Martinsville. Donations may be made to the SPCA of Martinsville-Henry County, 132 Joseph Martin Hwy, Martinsville, VA 24112 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
