      Newark - Helen Mae Matthews, age 92, of Newark, DE, daughter of the late John and Annie Haggerty, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 1, 2018. Helen was an outstanding hostess for 30 years at Baker's Restaurant in Elkton, MD. She was a meticulous homemaker who enjoyed making her home a place of beauty and comfort. Helen was a fantastic gardener who loved her flowers. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

      Helen is survived by her loving husband, Tucker Matthews; sons, Chris Reynolds (Sharon) and Douglas Reynolds (Sandy); daughter, Beverly Reynolds; stepson, Robert Matthews (Wendy); sisters, Margie Herron and Josephine Woodall; grandchildren: Eric Reynolds, Marley Quinn, and Zachary Reynolds; step grandchildren, Christine Dower and Kenny Matthews; and great grandchildren: Rylee Quinn, Sadee Quinn, Jase Reynolds, and Caiden Reynolds. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, LeRoy "Whitey" Reynolds; brothers: John, Ozzie, and Kenneth Haggerty; and sisters: Gertrude Crawford, Jean Barker, Anna Guns, and Christine Sakers.

      Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market St. Ste. 102, Philadelphia,
