William J. Preston, son of Joseph & rebekah departed this life 27th day of the 5th month 1884 in his 58th year. remains interred on 31st day at Octoraro.
On Tuesday the 27th ulto., at half past eight o'clock, at his residence in the Eighth district of this county, William J. Preston, a prominent and well known citizen of the community passed away, in the 58th year of his age. The disease which caused his death was Bright's disease of the kidneys, from which he had suffered for some time. His funeral took place on Sataurday last, 31st ulto. was attended by well over one thousand persons, over two hundred carriages being in the procession. The remains were interred in the cemetery attached to the favorite Meeting House of deceased, Octoraro, of which society he was an elder
