    WOODFORD A. "Woodie" BOWE SR.: age 75, died on Thursday, July 17, 2003 at his home in Chesapeake City, MD. Mr. Bowe was a retiree of General Motors Corporation after 37 years of employment. He was a devoted husband and father, and a life-long fisherman and excellent carpenter. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marion Rebecca "Becky" Bowe of Chesapeake City, MD; 2 sons, Woodford Jr. of Rising Sun, MD and Richard of Chesapeake City, MD; a daughter, Tammi Dionne of St. Petersburg, FL; and a brother, Wallace of Elkton, MD. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Richard Jr. of Hagerstown, MD, Woodford 111 of Elkton, MD, Timothy of Rising Sun, MD, Angela Anderson of Elkton, MD and Laci Salyer of Chesapeake City, MD; 1 great-granddaughter, Allison Rebecca Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private. A memorial open house in Mr. Bowe's memory will be held at his home at 422 Biddle Street, Chesapeake City, MD on Saturday, July 26, 2003 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to visit.

    Woodford married Marion Rebecca Charsha 23 Jun 1949, Chesapeake City, Maryland. Marion (daughter of Milton Fletcher Charsha and Emily Minerva Lloyd) was born 26 Feb 1930, Aberdeen, Maryland; died 25 Nov 2021, Chesapeake City, Cecil County, Maryland. [Group Sheet]

    Woodford A. Bowe, Jr. (Woodie) of Rising Sun, MD peacefully passed at home on October 24, 2018 at age 68. He was born April 30, 1950 in Elkton, MD to Woodford and Marion Rebecca Bowe. Raised in Chesapeake City, MD, Woodie was a 1968 Bohemia Manor High School graduate. He served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1974 as a radar electronics technician. Following the Navy, he worked at CDS Analytical, Inc. in Oxford, PA for forty-three years as a design engineer. Over the tenure of his career, he was awarded thirteen patents for designing and building chemical analysis equipment.
    He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Nancy Bowe; two sons Woodford A. Bowe, III and wife Christine, Timothy S. Bowe and wife Lisa; his mother, Marion Rebecca Bowe; his sister Tammi Dionne and husband Rick of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren, Woodford IV, Courtney, and Zachary Bowe, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close family. He is preceded in death by his father, Woodford A. Bowe and brother, Richard Bowe.
    He loved boating, fishing, crabbing, electronics, and 3-D printing, sharing this love with his children, grandchildren, and close friends and family. His boat, Tide Chaser, brought him and family many years of happiness on the Chesapeake Bay.
    Woodie is well known for his welcoming personality, his hospitality, and his big hugs. He especially loved spending time at his mother's house in Chesapeake City with nieces Angela Badgett and Allison Anderson. He will be missed greatly by a host of family, friends, and co-workers.
    A memorial will occur at a later date.

Mr. Bowe was a life long resident of Cecil County and was employed as a manager by the Flying J Corporation. Rick enjoyed being with his family. He loved music, digital photography and was very creative with graphic design. He was preceded in death by his father, Woodford A. Bowe, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Marion R. Bowe of Chesapeake City; a son, Richard A. Jr. of Hagerstown, MD; a brother, Woodford, Jr. of Rising Sun, MD; and a sister, Tammi Dionne of St. Petersburg, FL. He is also survived by 2 nephews, Woodford III of Elkton, MD and Timothy Bowe of Austin, TX; 2 nieces, Angela Anderson of Elkton, MD, Laci Salyer of Chesapeake City, MD and one great niece, Allison Anderson of Elkton, MD.
