EMILY ?Lloyd? CHARSHA: 47, wife of Milton Charsha of Port Deposit, died Thursday at Union Hospital, Elkton. Mrs. Charsha is survived by her husband, four sons, and two daughters, Milton Charsha Jr., of West Chester, Pa., Laurence Charsha of Middletown, De., and Charles and Gene Charsha and Miss Naomi Charsha all of Port Deposit, and Mrs. Woodford Bowe of Chesapeake City. Funeral services were held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bowe, in Chesapeake City on Monday and the Rev. Otis B. Reed officiating. Interment was Bethel Cemetery. (Cecil Democrat, 3/5/1953)

GENE Cromwell CHARSHA: 50, 100 Miller St., Elkton, died Dec. 25, 1978 at Union Hospital after an apparent heart attack. The lifetime resident of Cecil County was a supervisor for Central Chemical Co. in Elkton. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Dorothy B. Charsha; three brothers, Milton Charsha of West Chester, Pa., Charles R. Charsha of Rising Sun and Laurence R. Charsha of Chesapeake City; two sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Bowe of Chesapeake City and Mrs. Naomi Cool of Newark, Del. Funeral services were held Dec. 28, at the Gee Funeral Home in Elkton with the Rev. William S. Cooper of the Trinity Episcopal Church officiating. Burial was private at the convenience of the family. Lydia C. "Chris" Medina, 68 yrs. of Honey Brook, died on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Green Meadows Nursing Home in Malvern, following an illness.

She was born in West Chester, PA on Tuesday, January 27, 1953. Lydia was the daughter of the late Milton & Lydia (Roth) Charsha. She was the wife of Jose Medina, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.

Lydia was employed at Hickory House Nursing Home in the laundry service department. She enjoyed doing puzzles, cooking, fun times at Hershey Park, cook outs on the Chesapeake Bay and time spend with her beloved grandchildren.

Lydia was preceded in death by a son, Jose Juan Medina, Jr., two brothers, Bobby and Norman Charsha, and a sister, Jannie Chester.

She is survived in addition to her husband by 2 sons; Jose Luis (Shana) Medina of Hamburg, William Anthony (Pamula) Medina of Elverson, 2 daughters; Gloria Medina of Exton, Victoria (Walter) Blair of Hamburg and a brother Bruce Charsha of Parkesburg. There are 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 6 to 8 PM at The Labs Funeral Home, Inc, 141 Pequea Ave. Brook, Pa. 19344. Attendees are reminded of the COVID-19 pandemic guidelines and are kindly asked to wear a mask and observe physical distancing.

Woodford A. Bowe, Jr. (Woodie) of Rising Sun, MD peacefully passed at home on October 24, 2018 at age 68. He was born April 30, 1950 in Elkton, MD to Woodford and Marion Rebecca Bowe. Raised in Chesapeake City, MD, Woodie was a 1968 Bohemia Manor High School graduate. He served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1974 as a radar electronics technician. Following the Navy, he worked at CDS Analytical, Inc. in Oxford, PA for forty-three years as a design engineer. Over the tenure of his career, he was awarded thirteen patents for designing and building chemical analysis equipment.
He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Nancy Bowe; two sons Woodford A. Bowe, III and wife Christine, Timothy S. Bowe and wife Lisa; his mother, Marion Rebecca Bowe; his sister Tammi Dionne and husband Rick of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren, Woodford IV, Courtney, and Zachary Bowe, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close family. He is preceded in death by his father, Woodford A. Bowe and brother, Richard Bowe.
He loved boating, fishing, crabbing, electronics, and 3-D printing, sharing this love with his children, grandchildren, and close friends and family. His boat, Tide Chaser, brought him and family many years of happiness on the Chesapeake Bay.
Woodie is well known for his welcoming personality, his hospitality, and his big hugs. He especially loved spending time at his mother's house in Chesapeake City with nieces Angela Badgett and Allison Anderson. He will be missed greatly by a host of family, friends, and co-workers.
A memorial will occur at a later date.

Mr. Bowe was a life long resident of Cecil County and was employed as a manager by the Flying J Corporation. Rick enjoyed being with his family. He loved music, digital photography and was very creative with graphic design. He was preceded in death by his father, Woodford A. Bowe, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Marion R. Bowe of Chesapeake City; a son, Richard A. Jr. of Hagerstown, MD; a brother, Woodford, Jr. of Rising Sun, MD; and a sister, Tammi Dionne of St. Petersburg, FL. He is also survived by 2 nephews, Woodford III of Elkton, MD and Timothy Bowe of Austin, TX; 2 nieces, Angela Anderson of Elkton, MD, Laci Salyer of Chesapeake City, MD and one great niece, Allison Anderson of Elkton, MD.
