Nancy Bennett Boyd, March 8, 1931 - April 12, 2021, Nancy Lee Bennett Boyd, 90, of Ringgold, Va., went home to be with her Lord on Monday, April 12, 2021, at Bright Leaf Place after being in declining health for the past five years. Mrs. Boyd was born in Danville, Va., on March 8, 1931, daughter of the late Ernest L. Bennett and Lucille Yates Bennett. She spent all of her life in the Ringgold Community where she was a graduate of Dan River High School and then went on to work for Bank of America until her retirement. She was a member of Ringgold Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Joy Club and other church activities as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed working in her yard and was a very accomplished seamstress. On August 26, 1950, she married Calvin Thomas Boyd Sr. who died on August 11, 2007. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Frances Evans; brother, William "Bill" Bennett; and granddaughter, Misty Adkins.Survivors include her children, Dianne B. Donahoe of Ringgold, Va., Toni B. Adkins and husband, Kenny, of Ringgold, Va., Cindy B. Burnett and husband, Larry, of Ringgold, Va., and Calvin "Butch" Thomas Boyd Jr. and wife, Ellen, of Sutherlin, Va.; brothers, John Bennett and wife, Ramona, of Graham, N.C., and Walter Edward Bennett and wife, Paulette, of Danville, Va.; grandchildren, Joseph Donahoe III (Jenn), William Donahoe (Katie), Margaret Broach (Tyler), Katie B. Williams (J.B.), Kim B. Applegate (Chris), Bonnie B. McDarmont (Brad), Larry T. Burnett Jr. (Whitney), Patrick Adkins, and Rachel Boyd; great-grandchildren, Luke Donahoe, Rebekah Donahoe, Abigail Donahoe, Riley Donahoe, Grace Williams, Emma Williams, Maddy Applegate, Spencer Applegate, Cole Burnett, Henry Burnett, James Burnett, Bennett McDarmont and Lizzie McDarmont; sister-in-law, Shelby Bennett; and numerous nieces and nephews.A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Highland Burial Park with the Reverend Duane Caldwell officiating.Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is respectfully serving the Boyd family.
