He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, served in the Maryland National Guard and he served in the Delaware National Guard retiring in 1966. Mr. Reynolds retired with 34 years of service as a butcher with the A&P stores. He was a member of the Elkton Church of the Nazarene. In addition, he was a member of the 29th Division Association, Susquehanna American Legion Post 135, Non-Commissioned Officers Association, North East Methodist Choir, Cecil County Choir and he was on the senior bowling league in Elkton and Newark. He was a former member of the Barber Shop Chorus, Susquehanna Baseball League, and the North East Town Band. Mr. Reynolds was the husband of 54 years to the late, Loyce Rose Edwards Reynolds who died on March 11, 1995. He is survived by 4 daughters, Charlotte Schulz of Collegeville, PA, Sonja Britt and Linda Roark, both of North East, MD and Jeanette Thomas of Harpers Ferry, WV; 3 sons, James Reynolds, Sr. of Perryville, MD, Mark Reynolds of Magnolia, DE and Frank B. Reynolds, Sr. of Perryville, MD; 22 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; siblings, (twin sister) Rachel Alexander, Elmer Reynolds and Delores Letts all of North East, MD. In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Lou Scott; 3 brothers, Arthur, Henry and Charles Reynolds; 1 sister, Idella Preston and 1 daughter-in-law, Mary Helen Reynolds. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, March 9, 2003 at the Elkton Church of the Nazarene, 377 Nottingham Road, Elkton, MD.     Carroll E. Reynolds, Sr., 86, of Christiana, passed away peacefully after a short illness, at Christiana Hospital, on Wednesday June 15th, 2016.

    Born in Northeast, MD, Carroll was the son of the late Helen and Melvin Reynolds. While working for Chrysler, he met and married his wife of 65 years, Beatrice (Crossan). Shortly afterwards, he was drafted to serve his country for 2 years in the US Army.

    After being honorably discharged, Carroll went in to retail, but found his calling in the hardware business where he enjoyed helping do-it-yourselfers with their home repairs, yard supplies and other such needs. During this time he purchased and operated Haverback Hardware, and later opened Reynolds Window and Screen Repairs, which he operated right up to his passing.

    Carroll and Bea enjoyed traveling the country in their camper, he enjoyed singing in the church choir, but he especially enjoyed eating out.

    Carroll was predeceased by his older brother Edward, and his older sisters Helen E and Grace. He is survived by his youngest sister Sherry (John), as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Bea, he is survived by his children Linda (Steve), Melvin (Joanne), David (Michelle), Carroll, Jr. (Pat), and Marie (Dan). Adding to the joy in his life are his 7 grandchildren Jon (Lisa), Ashley (Seth), Jeffrey, Allison, Heather, Michelle (Christopher) and Julie (James), and 6 great-grandchildren Wesley, Nora, Declan, Colleen, Brian and Robert.

    He will be dearly missed by his many family and friends.

    Sherry is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, John H. Jackson, of Port Deposit, MD; and son, Brian K. Jackson, of Rising Sun, MD. Sherry was affiliated with the North East United Methodist Church, the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, and the Perryville United Methodist Church.
    Sherry was a graduate of the North East High School, North East, MD, and had been employed by the former Bainbridge Naval Training Center in their Public Works Division during the 1950's. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the Ray of Hope Mission. For many years, Sherry served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Hopewell Cemetery Association.
    In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by her brothers: Carrol Eugene Reynolds, Edward Charles Reynolds; and sisters: Helen Emma Goodnow and Grace Emily Reynolds.

    Sterling Reynolds, Jr., 92, of Elkton, MD passed away Friday, October 14, 2022. Born in Elkton on December 21, 1929, he was the son of the late Sterling and Elizabeth Hopkins Reynolds.

    Mr. Reynolds was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Cecil County Board of Education, retiring after 25 years as head custodian at North East High School, where he had worked since the school opened. Mr. Reynolds enjoyed woodworking and tinkering with cars.

    Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Alice Bowlsbey Reynolds; daughters, Donna Lee Snyder (Michael), Anita Marie Magaw (Bruce), and Patricia Ann Jones; grandchildren, Kelly Fortune, Jason Magaw, Timothy Snyder, Chris Snyder, Caitlyn Jones and Patrick Jones and great-grandchildren, Angelina Magaw, Tyler Snyder, Annabelle Snyder, and Joseph Snyder. Mr. Reynolds is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

    In addition to his parents, Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Jane Banks and Mildred Barrow.

An avid reader, he enjoyed woodworking and model trains.
    Survivors include his children, Sherrie R. Fauvelle, Chesapeake City, MD, and Harold L.     Raymond E. Reynolds, 72, of North East, MD, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in the Union Hospital Of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. A lifelong resident of North East, he was born on February 22, 1946, the son of the late George and Viola (Biddle) Reynolds


    Raymond E. Reynolds, 72, of North East, MD, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in the Union Hospital Of Cecil County, Elkton, MD.
    A lifelong resident of North East, he was born on February 22, 1946, the son of the late George and Viola (Biddle) Reynolds.
    He was a Concrete Finisher, working over the years for J & J, AFP and Ford Concrete Companies. He was a hard worker and good at it.
    Raymond enjoyed friends, dancing, oldies music, baseball, food, riding in the car and enjoying the views. He kept things together and was fond of saying, "Do it right or not at all". Most of all he loved his family, including his church family at Elkton Church of the Nazarene, especially Rev. Jim Moyers and his wife Penny.
    Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Bonnie S (Byrd) Reynolds; his oldest daughter, Stephanie Bowlin and spouse, John; his youngest daughter, Tonya Reynolds; 5 grandchildren, Jenna Williams and fiance, Zach Cochran, Robert Williams, Dylan Huff and spouse, Jordyn, Gavin Brinkman, Maya Reynolds; 2 great-grandchildren, Jade and Camryn Cochran; his siblings, Carol Jamison, Connie Keithley, and Richard Reynolds.
    In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by his brother, George Reynolds and sister, Mary Simmons.
    Funeral service will be held Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Elkton Church of The Nazarene, 377 Nottingham Road, Elkton, MD, with visitation beginning at 2 p.m.

    Richard R. Preston, age 58, of Georgetown, died Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

    Richard was born in North East, MD, son of the late William and Idella (Reynolds) Preston.

    He was a clerk with Super Fresh in Salisbury for 40 years. Richard was a member of Bethel U.M. Church in Lewes, where he enjoyed singing in the choir.

    He also enjoyed collecting antique bottles.

    Richard had a love of Little League and served for many years as a coach and umpire for Georgetown Little League and Sussex Central.

    He also coached and refereed soccer for Sussex Tech and Sussex Central.

    He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Charlotte (Brooks) Preston; two children, Christy Preston and Scott Preston, both of Georgetown; two sisters, Kay McGlothin of Perryville, MD, Lana Preston of Gulfport, MS; and a brother, Robert Preston of Rising Sun, MD.

    A funeral service will be held Friday, February 6, 2009, at 12 noon in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after 10 a.m.

    Burial will be in Bethel Methodist Cemetery in Lewes.
