    Notes:

    Lucy O. Wood, 101, of Marshallton, DE, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010.

    Mrs. Wood was born in Rising Sun, MD on January 29, 1909, the daughter of Leroy and Margaret (Barrow) Reynolds. She was a talented homemaker, a marvelous cook, a former employee of Winterthur Farms and a co-owner of Wood's Trash Collection business. She enjoyed decorating and cooking for the holidays and hosted her annual Halloween open house for more than 50 years. Mrs. Wood's family and her many friends will forever miss her enthusiasm and zest for life.

    Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband, Lewis Wood; her daughters, Alice Peterson of Elmira, NY and Nancy Chickadel of Newark, DE; her sons, Robert Reynolds and his wife, Frances of Perryville, AR and Richard Kendall and his wife, Anne of Wilmington, DE; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wood is also survived by her brothers, Leroy Reynolds and his wife, Daphne of Opa Locka, FL and Lindsay Reynolds of Newark, DE; and her sisters, Evelyn Casalena of Wilmington, DE, Grace Cockerham and her husband, Earl of Elkton, MD and Margaret Joines and her husband, Joseph of Newark, DE.

    She was preceded in death by her brothers, Allen and James Reynolds; and her sisters, Frances Shires, Helen Rowe, Nellie Gilbert and Rachel Voshell.

    A funeral service will be held at Lower Brandywine Church, 101 Old Kennett Road, Greenville, DE on Thursday, January 6 at 11 am. Family and friends may visit at the church beginning at 10 am. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.

    The family would like to sincerely thank Compassionate Care Hospice for the kindness and care extended to Lucy.
