Lillian Mae Eland (nee Thorpe) of Lancaster, Pa. and Ocean City, N.J.
Lillian Mae Eland, (nee Thorpe) of Lancaster, Pa. and Ocean City, N.J. died on April 18, 2015. She was the devoted wife of the late A. Kenneth Eland, loving mother of the late Kenneth G. Eland and dear sister of the late Elizabeth Fisher (Samuel) and Edith Thompson. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Kay Eland (nee Antley), three grandchildren, Kenneth (Diane), Beverly King (Jaime) and Stephen (Lynda), seven great-grandchildren and three nephews. Born in Wilmington, Del., she lived in Philadelphia and Media, Pa. before moving to Lancaster in 1986. She graduated from Strayer Business College in Philadelphia and was the office manager of the CPA firm, Gelrod, Fox and Company in Upper Darby for 40 years. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing, Friday, April 24 at 10 a.m. at the Arlington Cemetery Chapel, 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill, Pa., followed by the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Interment in Arlington Cemetery. Relatives and friends are also invited to her Memorial Service, Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m. at the Willow Valley Manor, 211 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, PA 17602. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Memory of Lillian can be made to either The Central Ocean City Union Chapel, 100th Anniversary Memorial Fund, PO Box 2182, Ocean City, NJ 08226 or the Grace Church at Willow Valley, 300 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, PA 17602 Arrangements are being handled by the Frank C. Videon Funeral Home.
