  1. 1.  Curtis Howard Elliott was born 4 May 1911, Pittsylvania County, Virginia; died 17 Oct 1989, Durham, North Carolina; was buried , Highland Burial Park, Danville, Virginia.

    Notes:

    Mr. Curtis Howard Elliott, 78, of Route 1, Danville, VA in the Bachelors Hall Community went to be with his Lord at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC. He condition had been serious for the past three years.

    Born in the Stoney Mill Community of Pittsylvania County, VA, he was the son of the late Thomas Howard Elliott and Serelza Wells Elliott. He had lived most of his life in Bachelors Hall.

    He was a carpenter and worked for P L Anderson for 17 years. Later he worked for a number of years with John Daniel Construction Company.

    He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Poquoson Tribe 124 of Red Men.

    Survivors include his wife Edith Lyons Parsons Elliott of the home, four daughters Barbara Kelsey Elliott Kirks of Bowie, MD, and Joyce Jeanette Elliott Nanney, Rebecca Jean Elliott Boulware and Patricia Dale Elliott Curry, all of Danville, two sons Alvin Randolph Elliott of Sunset Beach, NC and Ronnie Ray Elliott of Kernersville, NC.

    Also surviving are four sisters Lucille Elliott Hayden and Iris Elliott Shelton, both of Chatham, VA, Cordie Elliott Shelton of Danville and Irma Elliott Motley of Arcadia, CA, one brother Van Elliott of Westover Hills, VA, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held at the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Edd Calhoun officiating.

    Graveside services were conducted by the Poquoson Tribe 124 Red Men.

    Swicegood Funeral Home served the Elliott family.

    Interment was in Highland Burial Park in Danville.
