    DAR records show "John Carter m. Elizabeth Taylor (no Issue) Served as Colonel under Gen. John Sevier and was a prominent Patriot in the Watauga Settlement. B. 1737 in Virginia d. after 1777 in Tennessee". [NOTE: He lived in Tennessee, but died in New Orleans in 1847 by suicide.] (See Docs)
