  1. 1.  Levi Jackson was born Abt 1775, Pittsylvania County, Virginia; died Bef 16 Dec 1833, Pittsylvania County, Virginia.

    Notes:

    Will: His will was drawn 16 August 1833 (Pittsylvania Will
    Book 1, page 255) and probated 16 Dec 1833. In it, he
    directs his just debts be paid. All remaining part to my
    beloved wife Ann Jackson, one half to be disposed of as she
    may think proper. The remaining half at her death to be
    divided equally between: Susan Martin Jackson and James
    Andrew Jackson, children of James Jackson, provided they
    remain with my said wife Ann until they come of age or
    marry and each of them to pay to Sally W. Dunn, daughter of
    Matthew Dunn $50. to said Sally Dunn. Land whereon I live
    to James A. Jackson, son of James Jackson, after death of
    my wife and should land be more than his share to pay unto
    Susan M. Jackson the over plus. Executors wife Ann and
    Tavenor C. Shelton. Witnessed by Timothy Fuller and Nathan
    Dunn.

    Pittsylvania County DB 22, page 158, January 1816; Link to
    parents: Ephriam Jackson gave to "my son" Levi Jackson
    personal property including bed and walnut chest, family
    Bible, etc.
    In the 1830 Census for Pittsylvania County he was shown as
    being between 30 and 40, thus born between 1790 and 1800.
    This census shows in his household 2 boys under 5, one
    between 10 and 15, and one between 15 and 20. Girls are
    one under 5, 1 between 5 and 10 and one between ten and
    fifteen. His wife is shown as being between 30 and 40.
    These entries are believed to be her sister, Judith's
    children; (Judith died around the time of 1828 after the
    birth of her son, James Andrew. James Andrew was left
    property by Levi and Ann along with his sister Susan (also
    James & Judith's child).

    Levi married Ann Emmerson 24 Dec 1822, Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Ann (daughter of John Emmerson and Marion Anne Liddle) was born 1785, Pittsylvania County, Virginia; died Bef 19 Sep 1864, Pittsylvania County, Virginia. [Group Sheet]
