      MARTINSVILLE - Mary Mildred Marlow Johnston, 89, of 225 Pine St., Martinsville, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden, N.C.

      Born July 26, 1915, in Callands, she was the daughter of Roy Howard Marlow and Mary Wells Marlow. She had a step-mother, Catherine Rigney Marlow.

      She was a member of County Line Christian Church.

      She was predeceased by her husband, Richard L. Johnston.

      Survivors include one daughter, Margie J. McCrickard of Hurt; one son, Ronald Johnston of Altavista; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

      She was predeceased by one daughter, Bernice J. Atkinson and two brothers, Eugene Marlow and Russell Marlow.

      Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. at County Line Christian Church by Minister Dean Ashby. Burial was in County Line Christian Church Cemetery.

      Memorials may be made to County Line Christian Church Cemetery Fund, 12711 Chatham Road, Axton, Va. 24054.

      Norris Funeral Services and Crematory of Martinsville was in charge of the arrangements.
