- Lancaster Journal
November 28, 1828 (Friday)-Died at St. Augustine, East Florida, from an attack of Bilious fever, William Reynolds, Esq., in his 45th year, native of this county and brother of the Editor of this paper. He had removed to St. Augustine immediately upon the cession of that country to the U.S. by Spain. His knowledge of the Spanish language and his talent for business made him useful. He was appointed sec'y to the acting Governor, and Keeper of the Public Archives. He had filled the office of Mayor of the City of St. Augustine and was a member of the Legislative Council of the territory from it's organization.
