Both Jenkins wives of Herman Clark are sisters, daughters of Joel Walker Jenkins and Sarah Thaxton Overton
Sarah was a daughter (one of twelve known children) born to John E Overton and Susan Shackleton. Sarah married Joel W Jenkins on 13 Dec 1852 in Lunenburg County, VA. They had 10 children. Sarah's middle name is cited by her daughter Mary's 1909 North Carolina death certificate.
