Re: Obediah Terry Dickerson, Jr.Birth: 20 December 1790, Montgomery County, Virginia
Death: September 1873, Dillard Georgia
Burial: Head of Tennessee Baptist Church CemetaryOccupation: Surveyor
Obediah came to Rabun Gap, Georgia with Captian John Dillard about 1820. He was a surveyor who resided in Rabun Gab and Dillard, Georgia. There is no record of his buying land here. He supposedly lived on the Dillard Plantation. He was appointed Surveyor General of the state and laid out Rabun County in land lots. He was elected County Surveyor for fourteen years starting in 1832.
