  [S32] Find-A-Grave.com, Find A Grave Memorial# 23244392. [S42] Obituary. John Curtis Reynolds, Sr., 78, of Oxford, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the Jennersville Regional Hospital. He was the husband of Alma Shields Reynolds, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. Born in West Grove, he was a son of the late R. Earl and Mary Brumfield Reynolds. A life time resident of Oxford, John graduated from Oxford High School in 1947. John was a veteran of the US Navy serving in the Korean War. He was awarded the Purple Heart while sailing on three aircraft carriers: the USS Bataan, Oriskany and Kearsarge, as a Gunners Mate. He was employed with Acme Markets in Oxford and later with Chrysler Corp. in Newark, DE for thirty years retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Oxford Church of the Nazarene, an honorary active member of the Union Fire Co. #1, Oxford and the American Legion Roy W. Gibson Post #535, Oxford. John is survived by his wife; six children, Cheryl Wambold wife of Russell, Jr. of Jennersville, Karen Cramer of Elizabethtown, Donna L. Kauffman wife of the late David W. Kauffman, John C. Reynolds, Jr. husband of Melba Reynolds, of Oxford, Steven Reynolds husband of Lisa Reynolds of Chambersburg and Teresa Miller wife of Elbert Miller, Jr. of Calvert, MD; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Reynolds and Jeanne Reynolds both of Oxford. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Reynolds of Boynton Beach, FL. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, December 7, 2007 at the Oxford Church of the Nazarene, Locust St. and Penn Ave. Oxford, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Interment with full military honors will be in the Oxford Cemetery.
