  Ailsey Cole Lindsay is the great grandmother of Alexander Franklin James, Robert R. James, Jesse Woodson James, and Susan Lavenia James. Ailsey Cole Lindsay was the daughter of Richard Cole and Ann Hubbard. Richard Cole was born in Pennsylvania and became one of the early settlers of Fayette County, Ky. in 1786. Ailsey Cole married Anthony Lindsay in Woodford County, Kentucky in 1788 and settled what was know as Lindsay's Station, which is marked by the Kentucky Historical Society with a bronze plaque. Ailsey and Anthony were the parents of eleven children. Jesse Cole Lindsay 1789, William Lindsay 1791, Lucy Lindsay 1793, Richard Cole Lindsay 1795, Greenbury Lindsay 1797, Ann Lindsay 1800, Sallie Lindsay 1803, Elizabeth Lindsay 1805, John Cole Lindsay 1808, James Madison Lindsay 1810, Polly Lindsay 1813.
