Florence H. Voly, age 83, of Elsmere, DE, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2008, at home.
Born on February 27, 1925 in Middletown, DE, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Bertha Burris Reynolds. Florence worked as a waitress for over 40 years in the Wilmington area before retiring in 1981. She enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed family vacations at the beach, playing the slots and events at the New Castle Moose Lodge where she was a member for over 30 years.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Joseph J. Voly in 2007, whom she sadly missed; 2 brothers, Harold and Harmson Reynolds; and 6 sisters, Elsie Aspril, Lillian Anderson, Martha Clark, Elizabeth Blanchfield, Rebecca Everett and Anna Pearce. She is survived by 3 children, Deborah Carter and fiancé Allen of Newark, DE, Joanne Lingafelt and fiancé Jimmy of Newport, DE and Joseph Voly, Jr. (Butch) and his wife, Debbie of West Chester, PA.
Friends may call on the family from 6-8 pm, on Wednesday, May 28, at the CORLETO LATINA FUNERAL HOME, 808 N. Union Street, Wilmington. A committal service will be held at 11 am, on Thursday, May 29, at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
