Mr. Walter Issac Mills, 78, of 442 Brentwood Drive, Danville, VA went to be with the Lord at the Danville Regional Medical Center after a decline in health for three months. He had been in the hospital for one day.
Born in Pittsylvania County, VA, he was the son of Walter Coles Mills and Roxie Scearce Mills. He lived all of his life in Pittsylvania County and Danville, VA.
He retired in 1981 from the Number 8 spin of the maintenance department of the Riverside Division of Dan River Mills, after 32 years of service.
He was a member of the Christain Tabernacle Church in Callands, VA.
He served in the US Army Infantry during World War II in the South Pacific.
He married Sarah Frances Wells Mills on March 23, 1951.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include three brothers Richard Carlton Mills, James Radford Mills and Campbell Mills, all of Dry Fork, VA and two sisters Iris M Roach of Chesapeake, VA and Norma M Tuck of Danville.
Funeral services were conducted at Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home, North Main Chapel by the Reverend Kenneth Amos.
Interment was in Highland Burial Park in Danville.
