      CHILDREN OF ROGER KIRK (13) AND RACHEL HUGHES.

      Elisha, born 1775; died 1823. Married Hannah, daughter of William and Ann Mullen. Hannah
      died 1816. Elisha resided at the Brick Meeting House and was extensively known as a merchant. He died suddenly of some affection of the heart.
      Jacob, born 1779; died 1841. Married Sarah, daughter of John and Elizabeth England, of Nottingham. She was born 1784, and died 1812. Jacob
      THE KIRK FAMILY.
      Jacob married a second time. Second wife, Hannah England, a sister of the first. Hannah was born 1793 and now resides at " Kirk's Mills." Jacob Kirk Lived in Little Britain, Lancaster county,
      Pa., where he purchased considerable real estate and built what is now known as Kirk's Mills, a small village containing several mills, a store, post-office, &c, &c.
      Timothy, born 1781; supposed to have died about the year 1839. Married 1805, to Mary, daughter
      of Jacob and Esther Reynolds. She was born 1788,
      and died 1840. Timothy Kirk, for many years, was extensively engaged in business, and was a member of the State Legislature for seven sessions. He owned, at one time, half the land on which the
      borough of Oxford is situated. While residing in Oxford he owned a hotel, store and several farms and mills. Prior to the completion of the railroad from Philadelphia to Baltimore, the main stage road led through Oxford ? this place being a station and one of the "relays." Timothy Kirk was
      interested in this "line of stages" and in running cars on the Pennsylvania Railroad. In the year 1837 he became pecuniarily [particularly] involved. To escape trouble he departed, and finally sailed for Europe, and remained on the continent for some time. In 1839 he proposed returning, and embarked for Boston, but never reached America. In the early months of that
      year several sailing vessels were shipwrecked on the New England coast, all the passengers being lost. It is generally supposed that he was on board one of these vessels and was one of the ill-fated number.
      John (twin brother of Timothy), born 1781;
      died 1853. Married Deborah taken from the historic-genealogy of the Kirk family.
