      Randolph Family:
      As noted under the Isham family, Capt. Henry Isham left two daughters who married and had issue; Anne Isham who married Col. Francis Epps (See Eppes Family); and Mary Isham, the wife of Col. William Randolph of "Turkey Island".
      Col. William Randolph was born about 1651, and emigrated to Virginia about 1672. Several interesting theories of his English ancestry have been put forward, but none of them seems to be definitely established. He settled a plantation at Turkey Isaland in Henrico County on the James River, and married Mary Isham about 1680. Col. Randolph was a Burgess for Henrico in the Assembly of 1684, the Assembly of 1685-6 (wherein the other Burgess for Henrico was Richard Kennon), and that of 1688; also in the Assembly of 1691-2 (wherein his colleague from Henrico was his brother-in-law, the third Col. Francis Eppes, and those of 1692-3, 1693, 1695, 1696, and 1696-7 (Colonial Virginia Register, Standard, Pp. 83-90). From 1696 or earlier, to 1697 he was the Attorney-General of the colony (Ibid., P. 15), and in the Assembly of the 1698 he was elected Speaker of the House of Burgesses (Ibid., Pp. 51, 92). He served only three days in the Assembly of 1699, but returned as a Burgess to the Assembly of 1702-5 (when his colleague from Henrico was another Francis Eppes, the son of his former colleague), and those of 1705-6 and 1710-12 (Ibid., Pp. 92-98). Col. William Randolph died April 11, 1711. Our principal interest lies in the three oldest children of Co. William and Mary (Isham) Randolph, who were:
      1. William Randolph of Turkey Island, born Nov 1681;
      2. Thomas Randolph of Tuckahoe", born June, 1683; and
      3. Isham Randolph of "Dungeness", born December, 1684.

      Col. Francis was born circa 1659. He Eppes was a member of the House of Burgesses at Virginia. He resided at Henrico Co., VA. He died circa 1718. He left a will; proved Jan 1720.
