22 Feb 1709 - ARTHUR TURNER by his peticon shewing that COLL. THOMAS
ADDISON of the Province of Maryland drew a note on Mr. THOMAS MUDD of
the same province for 3978 pounds tobacco payable to said ARTHUR,
which said note FRANCIS LYNCH, merchant, requested him to sell him for
the like summe in the Colony of Virginia which he the said ARTHUR
willingly did and accordingly delivered him the same, after which the
said LYNCH departed this life without making him any satisfactiion for
the same or redelivering him the aforesaid note, and that DANL.
McCARTY, Gent., who had administered on LYNCH's estate did refuse to
pay the aforesd. Sum of tobacco or to lett the sd. ARTHUR have his
note aforesaid, for which he prayed the Court's judgment. Whereupon
it is ordered that the sd. DANL, doe immediately (upon his the sd.
TURNER's payment of what he is indebted to the estate of LYNCH
surrender and deliver to him the said ARTHUR TURNER his note soe as
aforesaid putt into the hands of him the said FRANCIS LYNCH together

27 Mar 1712 - P. 183-183a - TURNER v NETHERTON, ARTHUR TURNER and
ALEXANDER SMITH TURNER brought suite against HENRY NETHERTON and
declared against him for detaining and keeping 50 barrels of Indian
Corne from the Pltfs by them made and Left in the Plantation of the
Defendt, to their damage 5,000 pounds of tobacco, to which the Defendt
appeared and said he was Not Guilty in manner as Pltfs against him had
declared and that &c., and the Pltfs. Likewise and the Sheriff having
returned twelve honest and lawfull men of his baylywick sworn and
charged to try the matter in issue, upon debate of the same it was
mutually agreed between Pltfs. And Defendt that a Juror be withdrawn,
which accordingly was done and thereupon it was ordered by consent of
the parties that JAMES COLEMAN, SAMUEL RUST, VINCENT COX and WILLIAM
GARDNER doe some tyme before the next Court be held for this County
meet at the House of HENRY NETHERTON and settle adjust and decide the
controversie beforementioned as alsoe all other suites and differences
between the parties of what nature or kind soever which now are or may
be depending in this Court, giving due regard to all such evidence as
shall be produced to them upon Oath by either Pltfs. Or Defendant and
that they value the damages if any and make report of their
proceedings herein to the next Court under their hands in writeing.

Case against HENRY NETHERTON, Pltf aagainst ARTHUR TURNER, Defdt,
being at March Courtreport they have adjudged and settled all Accounts
between both parties and that balance of same found the Defendt
remained indebted to the Pltf. In the sum of 671 pounds of tobacco,
wherefore it is considered by the Court that Pltf. Recover against
Defendt sum of 671 pounds of tobacco soe as aforesaid adjudged to be
due and it is ordered ARTHUR TURNER doe pay same to HENRY NETHERTON

12 May 1731: At the request of Capt Jno Lancaster of CC, the following
deed was recorded this May 12, 1731. Mav 7, 1731 from Raphael Neale of
CC, Gent, to John Lancaster and Elizabeth, his wife, daughter of sd
Raphael Neale, for the natural love that Raphael Neale has for his sd
daughter and for 5 shillings, all that tract of land in CC adjoining
the lands of Arthur Turner, bounded by sd Turner's bound tree, a marsh
that falls into St Raphaels Cr, a Huckleberry Swamp, the land of John
Slingsby, the head of Poseys Cr near the bounded tree of Slingsby now
Allen, the land of Christopher Russell, the line of land formerly
surveyed for Benja Gill, Arthur Turner, containing and laid out for
about 494 acres (as by the patent granted to Anthony Neale, son of
James, dated Oct 10, 1695). It is the intent of this deed that the afd
John is to possess the afd land during his natural life, and
afterwards, it reverts to the next heir at law apparent of sd Raphael
