  James Wade was taxed for 150 acres in New Kent County in 1704: (THE QUIT RENTS OF VIRGINIA, 1704, Annie Laurie Wright Smith, Richmond, 1957, reprinted Genealogical Publishing Company, Baltimore, 1977.) Waid, James, New Kent County, 150 acres Waid, Edward, James City County, 150 acres Waid, Henry, James City County, 150 acres Known Children of James Wade are, Henry, Margaret m. John Hampton, James Wade, Jr. m. Elizabeth (Ballinger?), Anthony, Mary, and Sarah. Possible other children: Edward, Andrew, Richard, Robert m. Elizabeth Hampton, John and William Wade. Proximity Evidence suggests that James Wade of New Kent and Hanover counties, Virginia, were the same person but it has not been proved. Coincident facts of time and place indicate that the following contemporaries could have been his sons: Robert Wade Goochland 1729, Hanover c1720, Halifax 1770 John Wade Goochland 1732, Hanover 1737, Richard Wade, Goochland 1733, Henrico 1723 James Wade, Goochland 1736, Hanover 1725, James City 1749 Andrew Wade, Goochland 1739, Halifax 1766 Henry Wade, Hanover 1734, Edward Wade, Hanover 1734 William Wade, Hanover 1734 James Terry is associated with Robert, Andrew and Hampton Wade. Rev. Thomas Hampton, born 16 Apr 16__ in Elizabeth City County, Virginia, sailed for England in 1625 and enrolled at New College, Oxford 3/11/1625, at age of sixteen. If he was 16 when he entered college, he was born about 1609. By 1630 he was a minister of the Episcopal Church, and parish records state he was the rector in charge of two of the most important Parishes in the Colony, one located in James City County, which contained the capital, Jamestown, and the second capital, Williamsburg. He died ca Oct 1690, and in ?Families in Virginia? is stated: ?On a mutilated tombstone near Williamsburg his tomb may be deciphered, on which is written ?Rev.
