Born in Pittsylvania County, VA, she was the adopted daughter of Levi Donevan Wells and Blanche Elizabeth Mills Wells. She was married on January 25, 1936 to Lloyd Watson Lewis, who predeceased her on October 20, 1989. She was a homemaker all of her adult life and a member of First Methodist Temple. Survivors include two sons Levi Thomas Lewis and Roger Eugene Lewis of Danville, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased, in addition to her parents and husband, by son Lloyd Ivey Lewis. Graveside services were held at Highland Burial Park in Danville with Reverend Richard Morris officiating. Born in Kentuck, VA, he was the son of David Thomas Lewis and Victoria Agnes Pillow Lewis. He had spent his early life in Pittsylvania County, VA where he was a farmer. He moved to Danville in 1947 and was employeed by Dan River, Inc. until his retirement in 1976. He was also employed by Barker Funeral Home until he retired this year. Lloyd was a charter member of Kentuck Baptist Church and later joined First Methodist Temple. On January 25, 1936 he married Gertrude Reynolds Wells. In addition to his wife at the residence, survivors include three sons Levi Thomas Lewis of Danville, Lloyd Ivey Lewis of Burlington, NC and Roger Eugene Lewis of Ringgold, VA, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Frank E Washburn officiating. Interment was in Highland Burial Park in Danville.
