JOHN E. CHARSHA SR: services yesterday, age 74 died at his home 79, E. Street, Carney?s Point, NJ. Was a crafts superintendent in the construction department at DuPont Company who retired in 1955 with 39 years of service. A Mason, member of the Red Men?s Lodge in Wilmington, DE for 50 years. Member of the Tall Cedars, Consistory of Collingswood, NJ and DuPont Veterans Association. Survivors are his wife Clara and sons John E. of Kenneth Square PA, and Gover A. of Hobbs, New Mexico, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Burial in New Castle, DE. (Salem Sunbeam, Tues. 8/24/1965)
JOHN E. CHARSHA SR: Of Carneys Point, N.J. 74, of 79 E St., died yesterday at his home after suffering an apparent heart attack. A retired crafts superintendent in the construction department of Du Pont Co?s Chamber Works. Mr. Charsha ended 30 years of service in 1955. He was a native of Wilmington. He was a member of Penns Grove Lodge No. 162, F&AM, Penns Grove Foret of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the Collingswood Consistory. He was a member of Order of Redmen in Wilmington for more than 50 years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Clara Charsha, at home, two sons, John E. Jr., of Kennett Square, Pa., and Grover A. of Hobbs, New Mexico; six grandchildred and one great grandchild. Services will be held Monday morning at 11 o?clock at the Ashcraft Funeral Home, 47 State St. Penns Grove, where friends may call tomorrow night. Interment will be Gracelawn Memorial Park, near Wilmington. (Morning News, Wilmington, Del. Sat. 8/21/1965)
